At The Wilderness Dogs we do a lot of research on canine genetics. The goal of this planning is to improve the health, personality traits and intelligence in our lines with every puppy we produce.

To achieve this, we will occasionally add new genetics into our breeding program. This can take several generations and these in between litters are called foundation breedings.

These out crosses might have a different balance of breeds or a higher percentage of one breed. If you are looking for a pet with certain characteristics such as: hair coat length, size, adaptability, personality traits, then a foundation breeding might be for you.
